Janet Cody

Certified Dog trainer, IACP

Head Trainer/Owner

Living in a small town and raising puppies for Guiding Eyes for the Blind helped Janet make lots of new friends! From that grew the opportunity to share solutions to behavioral issues that fellow dog owners were having. Relying on providing leadership, play, and affection, she finds it very rewarding when she can help a dog and its owner develop a happy relationship.

Sean Cody

trainer

Sean is Janet’s son who splits his professional life between being a maritime engineer on a tugboat and a dog trainer when he comes ashore. He began his work with dogs in his childhood while pet sitting . His four-legged friends sensed his calm spirit and would follow him happily anywhere. He also assisted in raising the Guiding Eyes for the Blind dogs in the household.  Having owned and rehabilitated a fearful aggressive dog, he sees the advantage in tailoring the appropriate training methods to fit the individual dog and owner. The love of his life (other than his wife) is his faster-than-lightning dog, Dudley, who also assists in training clients’ dogs. Sean is an Associate Member of International Association of Canine Professionals. He is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.

Johnny Cody

trainer

Johnny Cody is the husband and father to Janet and Sean Cody. He is the man behind the marketing of the business and finds a way to tell any person he meets about Cody’s Dog Training. Occasionally he is pulled into training where we teach dogs how to be calm around his 6’4” frame. Don’t let his tough bearing that he learned from attending The Citadel fool you—he has a soft spot for a dog he lobbied to adopt—Bugsy, a 6 lb. Yorkshire terrier.
