Our Success Stories

DUDLEY JULY, 2015

Picture going to a home to let a dog out while the owners are working only to find the dog standing at the top of the stairs with its teeth bared at you. If you move to another room,  it runs quickly to see where you went but stays at a distance. Any brief eye contact could elicit a snarl or send him running. It was determined that Dudley was fearful aggressive of humans but very happy and relaxed with all sizes and breeds of dogs.

BODHI JULY, 2017

Imagine a very large, gray standard poodle walking quietly with his owner down the street until he sees a dog in the distance. His body stiffens as he gets closer to the dog and he begins to bark while madly pulling and lunging at the end of his leash. While not afraid of a small dog, Bodhi was fearfully aggressive especially with taller, larger dogs. His owners admitted that they were very nervous about walking him in public.

Chewey, MARCH 2018

Chewey was a stocky little chihuahua who would attempt to bite his owners at random times if he disagreed with anything they might want him to do! He was an equal opportunity snapper--dogs or humans. When visitors came to his house, he would bark long and loud at them. They were told not to touch him because he might bite. If the owner tried to move him off the bed, he would bite her.

People are unique, dogs are too.

Just as humans learn in various ways, a training program needs to be tailored to each specific dog and their owner. For that reason, we value individual training sessions in the dog and owner’s home where learning can be realistically applied.

Teaching dogs by teaching their people.

Cody’s Dog Training values teaching humans the principles of a dog’s psychology and then use leadership skills, positive reinforcement and behavior modification type exercises to achieve any goals for the dog and its owner.
